Do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering … but rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ … for the Spirit of glory … rests on you. —1 Peter 4:12-14God has a glory in mind for each of His people, whoever they are. It does not mean that you will necessarily be famous or a great thinker, a great speaker, a singer, a politician, a doctor, an accountant, a theologian, or a philosopher. But God wants to make you great.

Focusing to achieve perfection

The scripture says something interesting here, “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.” Hebrews 12:2-3

Jesus Christ is our mirror, He demostrated a life above pain, sufferings, and shame to possess the glory. Whatever you may be strugling with today, remain focus on the reward ahead of you, not the present pain. The point is that your glory is true spirituality, and it comes through tribulation: “We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God” (Acts 14:22). Many athletes will recounts their hard work to excel, if anyone considers the tough time, they may drop out on the way.
Brother Nehemiah amazes me as a focused servant of God, he refused all distrations to be able to finish well and receive his reward from the Lord, ” And I sent messengers unto them, saying, I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down: why should the work cease, whilst I leave it, and come down to you?
” Nehemiah 6:3 KJV

Although your gift under God could lead to greatness even in the eyes of men, it will never be apart from your receiving the glory that He has assigned for you. For God has a glory in mind for you, and that is that you become a truly spiritual person, an unpretentious person like Jesus.

When we are pretentious, people can see it, and yet we do not have any objectivity about ourselves. We go right on trying to pretend how clever, brilliant, sophisticated, or cultured we are, but that is not spirituality. Peter said, “Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time” (1 Pet. 5:6). Unless you become humble, unpretentious, and truly spiritual, all that you seek to do will not amount to a hill of beans.
Apostle Paul shared his life struggles with us, he was not pretentious to have make the list, we are all on a journey, we are not into competitions with one another, but to live above worldly passion, above sin, above distractive ephemerals of this sinful world. “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 3:13-14 KJV
When we speak of the glory of Christ, we are talking about the sum total or essence of all that He was; you could actually refer to Jesus, properly, as “His Glory.” In fact, Paul called the very gospel that we preach, “the gospel of the glory of Christ” (2 Cor. 4:4).
On the last line, the Lord encourages us to be strong and end well, ” He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
” Revelation 3:5-6 KJV
May we receive strength to end well in Jesus’ Name.

Freely give!
